There was a long journey up to Aberdeen for Kilmarnock, for their league match against Bon Accord. Despite being behind Bon Accord in the table, Killie went into the match with hopes of a win.
Kilmarnock got off to a poor start. Following a missed serve and a series of poor passes they found themselves 5-0 down. After a talking to from coach, Stuart Edgar, they managed to make a superb comeback to go ahead at the technical timeout 8-7. Killie was in the ascendency and kept on top through the rest of the set, Gordon Welsh with some strong hitting to win the set 25-16.

Giles had his best game of the season, setting & serving well.
Killie kept the pressure on in the second set and made a good start by going up 8-5 at the first technical timeout. They stayed on top throughout the set, with some good blocking from Edgar and Stewart Caldwell, and soon took the set 18-25.
The third set started well for Killie, but as is so often the case, they let Bon Accord back into it half way through the set, giving the Aberdeen side the lead towards the end. Despite Kilmarnock managing to fight their way back into the set, and earning a match point, Bon Accord won it by the narrowest of margins, 28-26.
After a harsh talking to, Kilmarnock came into the fourth set with new vigour. This determination showed as they stretched out a lead thanks to effective hitting from Neil McCallum and Euan Duncan. Towards the end, some unstoppable serving from Colin Giles finished the set, 25-19, Kilmarnock taking the match 3-1 in the process.

Veteran Allan Thomas was outstanding as a passer/hitter on Saturday.
Kilmarnock II were also up in Aberdeen for their league match against Beacon, and they too won in convincing fashion, winning 4-1 meaning both Killie teams could go home with a smile on their faces.
